Etienne Charles: Folklore LIVE Vol. 2
ABOUT THE CONCERT
Trumpeter Etienne Charles returns to the Appel Room for Folklore LIVE Vol. 2, transforming this striking venue, framed by sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, into a vibrant masquerade celebration where big band sound meets movement, rhythm, and storytelling.
Expanding on his acclaimed Folklore project, Charles brings together new music inspired by the rich traditions of the African diaspora, from Lowcountry Gullah-Geechee rituals to Haitian Vodou, Afro-Mexican Son Jarocho, and Garifuna rhythms.
With dancers woven throughout, the Appel Room becomes more than a stage. It is an immersive, full-sensory experience pulsing with color, energy, and groove. The stories are powerful, the rhythms are irresistible, and the atmosphere, set against one of New York’s most iconic backdrops, carries a sense of celebration that fills the room.
