ABOUT THE CONCERT
The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra pays homage to a decade of shifting politics, burgeoning influences, new and unbridled freedoms of expression, and sound explosions. Music-directed by Grammy Award-winning former JLCO saxophonist Ted Nash, The JLCO Plays the 70s presents brand new arrangements of seminal recordings from Weather Report; Betty Carter; Dexter Gordon; Chick Corea; the Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra; the Toshiko Akiyoshi-Lew Tabackin Orchestra; Ornette Coleman; and more. The JLCO will be joined by special guests Huberts Laws and Tom Harrell.
