Celebrating 20 Years in the House of Swing

This season, Jazz at Lincoln Center celebrates 20 years of the House of Swing—home of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. “Over those 20 years, thousands of musicians, playing all the different styles, have performed under the Jazz at Lincoln Center banner,” our Managing and Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis says. “On any given evening, we can use all the facilities to present a festival. The entire season is a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Frederick P. Rose Hall.”

Over the past two decades, you’ve watched world-renowned artists on our stages and marveled at Manhattan skyline views in the Appel Room; you’ve experienced an unmatched acoustic experience in Rose Theater and the warm ambiance of Dizzy’s Club, and more. We invite you to celebrate with us all season long and to share your memories of what you’ve seen and heard in the House of Swing.

I still remember the first time I saw Vijay Iyer live – it was in The Appel Room. That glorious sound combined with the lights of the cityscape behind the trio – there’s just nothing like it.

ROSE THEATER

It takes my breath away every time I go to Jazz at Lincoln Center. My first time seeing the view from the Appel Room, my jaw dropped. They’re my favorite venues in all of New York City.
