GOALS
1. Expand Performances
Increase opportunities for all people to experience jazz by expanding programming at our home in New York, and in collaboration with partners across the U.S.
2. Educate and Advocate
Teach jazz history, appreciation, and performance in person and via technology to make it accessible across generations, cultures, and geographies.
3. Make Jazz More Visible and Relevant
Communicate about jazz and the work of Jazz at Lincoln Center to build awareness and audiences worldwide and use new technologies to advance key messages.
4. Sustain and Grow Revenue
Diversify and grow Jazz at Lincoln Center’s contributed and earned income.
5. Optimize Organizational Effectiveness
Ensure Jazz at Lincoln Center’s long-term sustainability by building a vibrant culture, an engaged board and staff, world-class facilities and capabilities, and a plan for leadership succession.
KEY INITIATIVES
• Plan and launch a fundraising campaign to fuel our strategy, build the endowment, and support the evolution of the organization.
• Expand the concert season in The House of Swing and build the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra brand at home and abroad.
• Invest in the reach and impact of Essentially Ellington and other marquee educational programs to build the future audiences, talent pipeline, and infrastructure needed to preserve and propel jazz.
• Lead an institutional communications campaign conveying the public good and benefits of JALC to build awareness, appreciation, and support for the full breadth of our history, programs, and impact.
• Develop our philanthropic capacity and assert the case for supporting JALC at every touchpoint.
• Act as a platform to support and expand the jazz ecosystem by optimizing the JALC Library, Blue Engine Records, Jazz Live, Jazz Congress, and Jazz on the Road.
• Invest in and improve JALC’s infrastructure, technology use, culture, and effectiveness.
