Caracas Trio & Friends
Caracas Trio (6/11) is a group of three Venezuelan musicians who write and perform music rooted in Afro-Venezuelan rhythms and melodic improvisation. They use a unique instrumentation of keyboards, drums, and vibraphone to create a diverse range of sounds and colors in their music, incorporating a mix of drums and Venezuelan percussion instruments with the melodic improvisation and dexterity of the keyboard and vibraphone. Daniel Prim y Su Parampampan (6/13) is the musical vision of Latin Grammy Award-winning Venezuelan drummer and percussionist Daniel Prim. Rooted in the Afro-Venezuelan traditions of his hometown, Caracas, the project blends folkloric rhythms, jazz improvisation, and contemporary expression into a vibrant and deeply personal sound. Inspired by the joyful gatherings of his childhood — known as “parampampans” — Prim reimagines traditional songs through dynamic conversations between Drums, vibraphone, guitar, and melodic improvisation.
